What would be the effect of vomiting after lap band surgery?

I am a lap band patient. I was banded 4 weeks ago. Yesterday morning at 1 0’ clock, I vomited. Not much but yeah it was pretty much. I hadn’t eaten any mysterious thing. But…I vomited. OK... Is there any effect of vomiting on my surgery? Will it affect for long or it is just a normal case? If it is dangerous for me then what step should I take to stop this? Pl. help me.

Listen, Lap band vomiting is not the normal case (in excess). Vomiting is dangerous for any lap band patient, either you are new or passed some time with lap band. when you vomit then there are lots of chances of slippage of band from its place and this could become a medical emergency for you. You experience pain and difficult in eating. in worst case either you need to replace lap band or it may require new surgery to wrap lap band around stomach. It could be more dangerous for you.

To avoid this, never try to eat large chunky food. Chew your food properly and eat slowly. Never try to eat too much. If you think you are full then stop eating. Never drink water during meal or just after meal. Never drink water at random or in empty stomach. If you are persisting more vomiting then I must tell you, ask to your surgeon about this. Don’t take this lightly.
