Port area is hurting very bad after the surgery?

I have just gone through the lap band surgery and over the weekend I am experiencing port pain. I am not feeling good my surgeon did not tell me about this side effect. And the only time I feel less painful is when I am sitting down. Do all patients experience this lap band port site pain after the surgery or I am alone is having this pain.

cryingrose 		My friend had also this problem after the lap band surgery. But his surgeon told him that this lap band port site pain is normal and it would get better after few weeks. This port is the key for making the lap band more adjustable. But you don’t worry this port site pain after the surgery is normal and you will feel some pain over the port site for several days. But in many cases this lap band port site pain is not severe and it is well controlled with proper medication or pain controlling pills. But before taking any medications for this port site pain you must first consult your surgeon and then according to his or her advice go for the treatment.

If you are feeling like stinging, pulling or burning, sharp pain then it can be sever case. And you need to consult your surgeon about these things and discuss these things. Other mechanical malfunctions which can happen after the lap ban surgery related to port are disruption or cracking of the tubing connection from port to band, displacement of the port site etc. So, you must be well aware of these problems and if you encounter any of these problems then just consult your surgeon. Hope not any worse thing happen.
