Right after from surgery, you need to take care, in order to prevent further side-effects and complications. Blood clots are one of the complications after lap band surgery. Blood clots can be life-threatening and risky. Now, to prevent blood clots you have to take plenty of rest along with comfortable walk as much as you can. Blood clots form due to inactivity so take at least 30 minutes walk every day. After surgery never try to lift heavy things, not more than 20 lbs. You will be able to do normal job after a week but wait for at least three to four weeks for your regular office job. Don’t try to sit on chair for long time. After few weeks continue some more strenuous exercise. Wear loose fitting clothes and don’t use pillow under your knee.

If you are experiencing some symptoms like redness, pain on touch, breathing problem, fever then consult with your surgeon immediately. This would be the problem of your blood clots.
