Having stabbing pain in my heart?

I was operated on Jan21st 2010. I was doing fine but from few months I am having, chest pain after lap band surgery. It feels like stabbing pain in my heart and I am also feeling pain in my neck and arms. Is it because of eating caffeine or any citrus foods? Can anyone tell me is heart burn after lap band surgery common issue?

For the few patients lap band heart burn is a common issue. My brother is banded for three years he had never come to any problems related with Heartburn after lap band surgery. I read on online that not every patient suffers from the heart burn after the lap band.

Your chest pain or lap band heart burn might be due to your eating habits of caffeine or any citrus foods. You must have been recommended to avoid these types of foods, and then you must have not tried out all these. Heart burn also occurs often when one eats very fatty or heavy meal. The citrus diet which you take contains the citric acid which irritates the esophagus lesions. When your stomach acids reflux into esophagus it creates chest pain and leads to lap band heart burn. If anyone has weak lower esophagus sphincter then those people are much more prone to develop heart burn after lap band surgery.

If you case is much severe then you must consult your surgeon and talk to him or her. Your heart burn problem can be serious so just meet your surgeon and talk before its too late.
