Gastro esophageal reflux (regurgitation) is eating related problem after lap band surgery. This is most common complication of lap band surgery. There is nothing more serious about this but it may let you for hospitalization or sometime re-operation. Almost 34% of lap band patients are suffering from this problem. Now it is in control but still there are some problems with this.

In lap band surgery your digestive system drastically changes after changing the size of stomach. Reason of cause of reflux is wrapping of band tightly. If your band is tight then the stomach fluids back up in to the esophagus and it damage tissues which are not designed to be acidic stomach juices.
If you are experiencing reflux problem mildly then try to change your diet, ask to your doctor to lose your band and never sleep

Don’t eat milk product, coffee, coke and chocolate in night. Eat dinner 3 to 4 hours before going to bed. Stop drinking alcohol. Avoid taking big meal, take small amount of meal and chew it properly. Avoid taking tomatoes and citrus fruits. If this problem persists then I would suggest you meet with your surgeon.
