When your lap band erodes, you experience abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, vomiting blood and redness over the abdominal site where port is situated. After lap band erosion, saliva passes though the hole caused due to erosion in the stomach and flows along tube. It causes tissue under skin of lap band port infection. It may harm your stomach. It disables lap band system and leaves you with the weight gain. You feel no restriction of food and you discontinue with the weight loss goal. This is the failure of your lap band. Failure of lap band put patient at risk for developing a leak. There is also a risk of increasing the size of ulcer. If there will be erosion-ulcer then it will be hard to cure even after removing the band. So it is recommended to diagnosis it as soon as possible and remove band.
